Self-disclose, which involves revealing a lot about oneself, brings in a sense of vulnerability. According to Brene Brown's lecture, open people, who are people that talk or reveal a lot about their selves are whole-hearted and they do not feel comfortable or excruciating being vulnerable. For them, vulnerability helps them discover their authentic selves. Vulnerability, helping one to better understand his or her authentic self is a process where there are positive outcome and negative outcomes, but these work together. shame, fear can be necessary in other for one to figure out what can bring joy, love and belonging.

Put Into Practice - The Authentic Self
How can one better understand his or her authentic self, genuine self or real self through self disclosure? By revealing things about oneself to others, it is possible that a person can better understand his or her authentic self. In my opinion, I think this process will require feedback from whoever you reveal things about yourself to. Feedback is necessary in the sense that it tends to be accompanied with some sort of evaluation. For instance, in a conversation where i discuss with a friend which career i would be better at therapy or law . Because i must have talked about how well i can read people, there is a good chance he or she might say therapy would suit me better for a career. Therefore, I think self -disclosure can help one to discover one's authentic self.
